Frequently Asked Questions

How can Tempus help my company make money?

Tempus leads the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry with the highest revenue share percentage available and has a vetted network of vetted electronic asset buyers. Tempus works with you to identify electronic assets that retain significant financial value. Depending on the age and type of technology, customized strategies will be made specifically for you to help you make money.

Do you only have a revenue share program, or will you buy my assets?

Generally, Tempus operates on a revenue-share basis to ensure you get the most money possible for your assets. However, there are often scenarios where Tempus will purchase the equipment outright. It all depends on your requirements; Tempus works with you to make you the most money back on your retired equipment.

Is your ITAD service available nationwide?

Absolutely. Tempus has a nationwide footprint and services all 48 contiguous states.

What is Included in your ITAD Service?

The Tempus ITAD services are custom designed to streamline customers’ IT asset management operations. In most cases, this includes:

  • Physical inspection and valuation of assets
  • Removal of assets from premises (w/ Chain of Custody Documentation)
  • Data destruction services (i.e., shredding, degaussing, auditable data wiping)
  • E-waste recycling and disposal
  • IT asset brokerage services for equipment with resale value

How do I know my data is secure?

As an R2v3 Certified recycler, Tempus is serious about data security. Tempus offers DOD-level data eradication as well as physical hard drive destruction services. All jobs also receive an itemized serial number log for all devices destroyed or wiped and a Certificate of Destruction, Reuse, or Recycling.

Do you offer Certificates of Data Destruction?

Yes, as an R2v3 company, Tempus provides Certificates of Destruction. A Certificate of Destruction is a formal document that contains detailed information on the destruction of your data and guarantees that the destruction process complies with all security laws. These certificates help protect your company in case of legal action or an audit.

Why is this so important?

According to the 2020 Global E-waste Monitor report, 53.6 million tons of e-waste were generated last year, of which only 17.4% were recycled. The rest was mostly dumped or burned, sacrificing much of the value from the precious metals and commodities contained in the devices and causing tremendous harm to the environment and public health and safety.

Can you help with our ESG Compliance initiatives?

Tempus provides a range of services designed to help our customers meet their commitment to avoiding greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to meet their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals and objectives by providing secure and sustainable solutions for electronic assets that need to be phased out to either be remarketed (reused) or disposed of (recycled).

Tempus is a valuable ally when it comes to Scope 3 Emissions, which encompass the indirect climate contributions of corporate operations that include supply chain concerns, product production, transportation of goods, and end-of-life treatment of sold products. In addition, Scope 3 emissions encompass the disposal of goods, such as electronic devices.
